I don't know if it's the same thing Dotsie but when I was younger I used to make pig tales and then braid them and wrap them up. (Now that I think of it I guess it was kind of a Swiss look...LOL Anyway I remember that I wore my hair like this everyday during the summer and I ended up with the most gorgeous natural highlights from the sun.

I think my daughter does that sometimes. I'm not sure though. Being a dancer for so many years made her very clever at devising ways to keep her very long hair away from her face. I wish I was as handy with mine!

I am getting sick of my hilights too, now Dotsie. I have an appointmaent next week. It's either all blonde, dark brown or back to hilights. Decisions, decisions. I saw something cute yesterday...Pigtails(low ones) with only 3 braids and the rest of the long hair hanging.
Louisa, perms are out for me..I've had a million. I like my long, straight, fine, hilighted ponytailed hair too much to get back into that regime in the morning.
Diamond, how long is your hair? TVC, you don't have a pic on your cooking site do you? Jackie is your hair long?
My Mom put rollers in her straight hair all her life...and wore them to bed, practically every night....God bless her.

TVC, I think it's the same thing, but she doesn't braid hers. Jackie, your daughter has probably worn her hair this way. It was fairly popular a few years back becasue soem gal in a dance movie wore her hair in that style.

Chick, let me know what you decide about the highlights. I like the look, but can't stand paying to keep it up.

Another weird thing with my hair is it use to have a nice wavyness about it and suddenly its straight as an arrow. Someone said the more grey you have the less curl??? Sounds strange but then again!!!

I thought the wave was going out of my hair, who knows exactly how much gray I have? I haven't see the true color for years. Anyway, I've been wearing is straight, with much effort. I tried a new leave in conditioner by Aveda called Effexor and I have curl again. I think my old conditioner was weighing it down.

I still wear my hair in a ponytail and if I'm in a big hurry, I add a women's size baseball hat. I like the ones you used to be able to get at the Gap.

Daisygirl I'm going to try the Aveda Effexor, who knows it may be the conditioner I use.

My mother always had me in pigtails. My hair, too, is very thin, so the darn things would stick out in all directions. And the nuns loved them! nothing like having a pigtail pulled out of your head, everytime they felt it important to reprimand you...

Up until last fall I wore my hair shoulder length or longer and when the weather got warm I'd wear a French braid (which I could do myself) or a French twist for work and on weekends I'd wear the ponytail. I loved the versatility of the longer hair, but in the past year I've been working 50 hours per week at my day job and writing evenings and weekends so I just don't have the time to fool with my hair.
