Writer ladies,

I'm working on a book proposal and need some answers to short questions about your writing process. At this time I'm looking for published writers only (sorry, it's necessary due to the slant of book). If you'd be willing to help me out by answering a few short questions via email, please email me and I"ll send you the questions. kelly@kellylstone.com.

Thanks,
Kelly

Kelly,

I am published, but I've never had to write a book proposal. I wrote one true story and the rest are fiction. With fiction they ask for synopses. I can recommend a book by Michael Larsen. It's called How To Write a Book Proposal. It's very good. You can purchase it through Amazon.com both new and used, starting at $4.25. Michael and his wife Elizabeth Pomada are Literary Agents in the San Francisco area. They have a Web Site if you want to check them out. I met them at a writers conference once. They are good people. They've been in the business since 1972.

I know Michael also. Small world. Met him at a conference in Santa Barbara where I was giving a talk on internet publishing a few years ago.

Raven,

Was it the Santa Barbara Writer's Conference? That's where I met them, briefly. They were introduced in a workshop I was attending. It's been years for me. I attended that conference in 1985, 1989 and 1990. I can't remember which year they were there.

Kelly, I have a format for book proposals given to me my my agent. Email me and I'll share it if you'd like.

Also, read anything the Hermans have written about getting published. They're information is right on the market.
