Same here Claire - first link worked and when your picture popped up it was like you were sitting across from me since the photo was LARGE!!! Thanks for visiting me here in my studio (hahaha).......

Re: Dublin...we were with a tour group so had a guide the entire trip. The most fun was the first day in Dublin though because after the guide took us to see the Book of Kells, they "turned us loose" in the city to wander as we wished and the bus came back 4 hours later to pick us up. That's when we visited the shops, and a pub, and had the most fun! [Big Grin]

Hi Claire and welcome,
My great grandparents came from Ireland, although I don't know exactly where. I've always been proud of my Irish heritage. I am very glad to meet you. Welcome! Dana

Welcome Claire! My Daddy's mother's people came to the USA from Ireland. They landed in VA in the mid 1600's and then found their way to Appalachia...God's country .

I'm hit or miss on the forums, just sheer overload keeps me from being here lots but I love it when I do land! Wonderful women, supportive, interesting, witty, wise, compassionate...the kind of women you'd like to have as friends over the fence.

Settle in gal, you've found a home.

Thanks Dotsie. So nice to feel wanted! :-) Well, my word for today is 'go h-álainn' = 'beautiful'. I just got back from Prague in the Czech Republic and enjoyed every minute. It was 'Go h-álainn' just like this site and everyone on it, especially you! :-)
All the best
Clairey x

Hi Claire! Sorry I haven't greeted you before now. This is a cool place alright! lots to read and ponder, seems I'll never catch up. I'm a dog-lover too, have 2 here at home, a rott and a shetland sheepdog. Oh yes, I have a green-eyed daughter here at home, the only one out of 3 that has green eyes! My mother was Irish-French, and my husbands family is all mixed up of Scots, Welsh, and Irish. Ireland is one of 3 places outside of the U.S.A. that I want to visit someday, New Zealand and Italy are the others.
