Thank you Brenda for the welcome. Here is a short synopsis of myself. I was born and raised in California and now live in Redding. I am a homemaker who enjoys reading mystery novels, writing short stories and poems (unpublished), being a help and encourager to others, and cooking (especially in Dutch Ovens). For the majority of my working years I was involved in social work. I am still married to my high school sweetheart, have a 34 year old son and 6 year old grandson.

Melody, we have a few things in common. I have been a homemaker, except for BWS and www.nabbw.com which I do from my home office. I am also married to my high school sweetheart, and live in the same state in which I was raised. Welcome!

Hi Mellody,

I'm a relative newcomer from NH, who is also a sometime writer. Seems there are a lot of us here. I haven't had the courage to look at the writers' forums yet, but I'm sure I will eventually.

Mellody,
Welcome to a great site. I'm a newcomer also, but have learned so much in such a short amount of time.
I was born and raised in Eureka, Calif., and used to travel to Redding in my '58 Vette to do some drag racing at the track in Redding many, many years ago.
Have some friends that still live there.
Was just a bit to hot for me during the summer time.
Hope you enjoy this wonderful place.
Welcome....Welcome
Lynne

Western Bluebird - Yep, '58 Vette! Wish I would have known they would be worth a mint later in life.
Saw one over in Eastern Washington last year. Was fully restored and the guy wanted $80,000 for it!!
Let me tell you........if I had the money I would have bought it.
Had to give it up after I was married at the ripe old age of 18.
Got pregnant on the honeymoon, and at 8 months it was impossible to get behind the wheel, and also to work under the hood.
Sold it to a "idiot" friend who parked it on a hill, put it in neutral to listen to a song on the radio, and then forgot to put it back into gear, and it went flying down the hill when he got out of it. Dumb...Dumb......Dumb
It's fiberglass!!! Put lots of holes in her.
I also had a '65 Chevelle Malibu, four speed, all the good stuff......a '68 El Camino......a '57 Chev pickup......can't remember the year of the 200 SX, but it was the first year it came out.....she even talked to me.
Can you tell I love cars?
I now have a '93 Explorer and will never give him (Butch)up until he falls apart on me on the street, and just bought a Miata(Butterfly Beauty)My late midlife crises auto.
Can you tell I'm finally starting to live?
It's fun!
Lynne
