I've been doing searches all over the 'net for a forum I might enjoy and there you were. [Smile] I'm from Canada and about to hit the big 5-0. There, I said it! [Smile]

I love to crochet and recently began to do beadwork. So far, I've made a couple of necklaces and a couple of bracelets and I'm really enjoying my new hobby.

I live with my significant other, 2 cats, some fish and a dog. Just a small menagerie we are hoping to increase.

Welcome MiwSher! We have several Canadian Boomer women on board here and I'm sure they will be welcoming you once they see you've joined us.

The Big 50 isn't so bad - trust me [Wink] ! I'm sneaking up to the big 60 in another year and as long as I'm young at heart - and I am - I'm content.

I've got one cat - a hyperactive "Hemingway" (polydactyl) tabby named Sam who rules the roost around here!

Glad your web surfing brought you here...you will love it....I guarantee that.

Hi Pam [Smile]

Thanks for your warm welcome. You're a published author! I used to write short stories and some poetry but never submitted anything for publication. It's been a long time since I've written anything, though.

Anyway, it's good to meet you. [Smile] I'm looking forward to posting regularly here.

Hi MiwSher! Welcome! I love to crochet also, but haven't sat down long enough to crochet for a long time now. I'm looking forward to some quiet time with my hooks and threads/yarns. It's so relaxing for me!

You'll find writers and poets among us! That's how I found this forum! Enjoy your "new home" on the web!

Hi Ash,

It's so nice to meet you. [Smile] My brother and his wife lived in Scotland for a few years, in Edinburgh. He worked for the Bank of Scotland. He's in computers (mainframes). What a beautiful country! I treasure the pictures he sent from there.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I still grieve for my three cats who have passed. It does get better but we never forget them. Blessings to you in your sorrow.

Take care,

MiwSher

Hi Songbird, good to meet you. [Smile]

I have a few crochet projects on the go right now. I find it very relaxing too. I've just started beading as well and I've finally learned how to crochet with beads so it will be nice to combine my hobbies.

I'm already feeling very good about my "new home" here and I'm looking forward to getting to know as many of you as I can.

Miw Sher: Years ago, before I started writing, I remember doing a proyect or two with crochet and beads. I enjoyed it!

This past weekend, while visiting my auntie who also enjoys crochet, one of her creations rekindled the flame and I'm eager to start crocheting again. But I'm trying to promote my book and my musical CD while running my husbands office and have very limited time.

Well, I guess I'll have to make an appointment with my crocheting supplies [Smile] now sitting in a plastic tub all alone [Frown] . I love crafts and learned so much from them!

Glad you joined us!

Hi Miw Sher.

I never learned to crochet but used to like to knit. These days I'm doing some quilting.

I have a calico cat named Cha-Cha. She's the queen of the house and knows it.
