jabber, we have had some big storms here, too. Mostly at night when I am snoring away... Nice poem.

I LOVED your poem, Jabber. It is one of your best!

Jabber, my dear,
Need not to fear.

The poet bunch,
Are out to summer lunch.

The sizzling heat,
Makes us cool our feet.

We’re out at the lake,
Or at a clam bake.

But I would lie.
If I'd say, I never stop by.

Here is one of them....

YESTERDAY & TODAY

Yesterday I was a baby so small,
now I'm an adult and 5 foot, 5 inches tall.

Yesterday my eyes were cloudy soft blue,
now they have a tinge of vibrant violet too.

My hair was so fine, of it mom was not fond,
but soon it turned a thick lovely blonde.

I would crawl then walk full of energy,
now I can hardly make it to the bathroom to pee.

I wore frilly dresses and panties of lace,
if I tried wearing frilly now I might fall on my face.

When young all the boys were in love with me,
now the older men look but don't seem to see.

I'm not a child now and have passed all lifes tests,
found out living a long life, growing wiser is the best.

I've heard anytime we spend above dirt means that we live,
maybe all the complainers should consider the alternative...

Good one, Chatty!

Right U R; the alternative to growing old, demands serious
contemplation.

The problem is, when folks' are young, they don't seem to understand what elderly people are going through. When those
problems come home to roost, so to speak, that's when everybody
wishes they'd been more compassionate, way back there, in years gone passed!

Somethings can only be learned by experience.

Inspiration

Poets need inspiration, to feel a certain feeling,
When emotions start stirring, communications get reeling.

One day there's nothing, I wish to convey,
Hours later, I've plenty I want to say.

No need to share with all of you, anything blue,
For it's happiness'n joy, I want to ensue.

The lighter and brighter side of life,
I like to project, instead of darkness and strife.

So I'll put aside negative news,
And admit till I'm inspired, gonna take me a snooze.

Today I went splashing in the pool so blue,
you could feel the cool water all over you.

I felt like a mermaid floating on the ripples,
then a cool breeze blew and hardened my nipples.

Don't mean to sound naughty, not even a little,
fell off my raft, surfaced my mouth full of spittal.

I nearly drowned because I can't swim a lick,
if I fall in the water I sink like a brick.

I do so love the water especially the ocean,
when I first saw it's splendor I said, "Oh my, land a'gocian."

If I were to die which wouldn't be to my liking,
I would hope at least I would have the funeral of a Viking!
