Wow Chatty and Edelweiss3, great poems!
The fact daddy named every animal and cow, Is why he never butchered, even a sow. Pa kept chickens, horses, and cats that meowed, But he kept no turkeys, guess he didn't know how.
Well, today is Thanksgiving, and I'm pleased to say, I met all of you here, in a really unique way. We're off the cuff poets, rhymers, and clowns, Now it's time to eat chow, on the outskirts of town.
I've so much to be thankful for, It'd take too long to list, More than I noted before, When addressing a subject like this.
God be with you, and those you love'n hold dear, Have a great Thanksgiving and an even better year!
Love, prayers, and blessings, Jabber

The holiday has come and gone, need some exercise, maybe I'll mow the lawn.
The heck with that best just sit here still, while my belly processes like a lumber mill.
A wonderful time was had by all, Could hardly walk, tried hard not to fall.
We ate, we drank, we laughed and we giggled, my granddaughter danced for us, boy can she wiggle.
On my drive home, the triptofan made me sleepy, nearly hit another car, which made me weepy.
Got home safe and sound, and went right to bed, thanked God for getting me home then pulled the covers over my head.
Went right to sleep, sure I could be heard snoring, dreamt of the time we had, and how my family's never boring.

Too tired to work, too awake to go to bed So I just sit here nodding my head, Writing anything that comes to mind. Sitting and typing and getting a fatter behind.
Crash! What was that? Oh my head hit the keys! But I can’t stop typing, Even if it’s my last dying wheeze.
My fingers are more awake, Than I could ever be, Doesn’t this just take the cake? Do you think I’m going crazy?

Maybe they don't care about this White House or its occupants. -------------------------------------------------------------
CRASHING A STATE DINNER
In they strolled as if they knew, all the people there or maybe just a few.
They mingled and chatted the evening away, then hurried on home, they had not come to stay.
Once home the photos taken went up on YOU-TUBE, which showed the White House Security Chief to be a bungling boob.
The very next day it was in all the press, the president went nuts saying we must cover up this mess.
But low and behold it was too late, White House Security Chief and staff must meet their fate.
This just goes to show you, if the terrorists want in, they will get in, do some damage, and slip right out again.
One thing is as clear to me as can be, let them have their State dinners, you'll find me eating in a safe place, like Arbys.
This gutsy couple just wanted a Reality Show, but instead face a fine for trespassing that'll cost THEM some dough...

PARTY HARDY
Never thought of crashin' a private party, Though, often joked 'bout it, quite hardy.
Think of the moxie, it had to take, To walk into The White House, Via its front gate!
That'd blow an average mind, Clear out of da water, Employin' pure guts, to do what Ya hadn't ought ta!
Back on 911, I started wonderin', 'Twas National Security sleepin', Or didn't we have one?
Seein' a strange couple, Dancin' 'round The President's gala, Reinforced the supposition, Holy cow! We ain't got none!
Be alert, oddballs you'll see a creepin', Watch it now, peepin' Toms, they're a peepin!

The Gift
The greatest gift I was ever given, Next to the air that keeps me livin', 'Twas when a farmer and his wife, Chose to adopt me, into their life.
Those blessed years, I'm so grateful for, I grew up in the land, of the great outdoors. Where orchards bloomed and grape vines, strewn, And animals roamed all around the home.
Ha, yes; I'm here to say, The greatest gift, I ever got, Was when my folks' decided, They would adopt.
