chatty, you are so right. The mere mention of snow and everyone runs to the food store, then hibernates.

We aren't prepared for this kind of snow so we do have an excuse this time.

If you scroll back, you'll see some photos of the snow that I posted last night.

Dotsie,
Love the pictures! They were fun to look at!

Chatty,
It always amazes me how the State and County sets money aside
for road repair and then doesn't fix any roads. I've seen
potholes around here large enough to get lost in. You go for a
ride and wonder how the car holds together. I've been grumbling
about this issue for years. No elected official ever answers the question, "Where's the money they set-aside to repair the roads?"

Boy the difference a few weeks can bring. First in sunny warm aruba and then in the freezing tundra...too much, too fast.

Oh, and your home is just beautiful and looks very big.

Dotsie...I love your house and was blown away by the snowfall...and are those iceciscles I see? (How the heck do you spell that anyway?).
Your home is beautiful, the snow looks like so much fun and I hope it's not being too big a problem.
We're close to Mobile and the schools are shutting down tomorrow because of a winter storm warning...it began sleeting today and they expect 2-3 inches by tomorrow...maybe 1 on the coast. I cannot believe they're shutting down like this...I guess they expect 'ice' so I understand that...I haven't seen snow in years so if we do get snow you can bet I'll get some photos just to prove it really snowed on the gulf coast...LOL
Be safe ya'll and I hope that all of this will be over soon.

The pics bring back wonderful childhood memories! Gosh, we walked to school in blizzards! then came home to play in the show, build snowmen, make "mountains" to slide down.

I recall Mom putting plastic bags on our feet before our boots went on. Then, those "leggings"..remember them? They went OVER our pants and zipped up at the ankles.

Love looking at snow. Here in the deep Southwest, we've gotten some......not ENOUGH, but some. This week it'll be in the low 60's...YES! I'm tired of (our kind of) winter!

Dotsie, we are in the same boat you are..buried under almost 4 feet of snow since last weekend...I'm so happy you posted that picture of you and your son basking in the Aruba sunshine..I'm a summer kind of girl and the only time I welcome snow is when we get an inch or 2 on Christmas Eve...I have a very bad case of cabin fever tonight...and now they are talking about us getting another 6 inches or so beginning Monday night...yuck!!!

Chatty, my husband wanted me to thank you profusely for the suggestion of applying wax to his snow shovels..he said it worked like magic!!! so......thank you, thank you thank you..:)

Nancy, I am so glad someone bothered to try my suggestion because I knew it would blow you shovelers away, it works so well. I learned it from my father when just a skinny little kid having to help shovel snow in the Indiana winters. Tell him, "my pleasure to be of assistance."

Your darling is beautiful and you two are so sweet together. Your church is really pretty. I cannot get over the snow drifts between you and the church...whoa!!!

Loved your photos, Dotsie. Hope it's all gone by next week. Snow on Ash Wednesday would surely be an interesting thing to record. smile
