SUMMER

Hurray! Hurray! Summertime is here!
A season, you'll find, many Northerners' revere.

Love watchin' branches wavin' in the breeze,
Soft winds doth sooth 'n pleasantly appease.

Out West, temps might be climbin' too high,
But they can grin, when snowflakes here, begin to fly!

So true, Jabber!

I am so glad not to be in Oklahoma where it is in the 90s day and night, or in Arizona or New Mexico with the firestorms, where my mother says it will be in the 100s all week. (And she is glad for that, as the heat is needed, she says, to bring on the July monsoon season, which they desperately need.)

But we in the Midwest DO have hot, sticky summers with tornadoes and thunderstorms and frigid, bone-chilling winters.

So no matter where we live, the weather always gives us something to talk about!

I love watching the Midwest's "Midwest Country Show" on RFDTV. We've had a larger amount of thunderstorms than normal this spring. But God love those folks' who have to leave their
houses behind and head for higher ground. And God love those
families with houses flattened by wildfires, tornadoes and hurricanes.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Thinkin' 'bout Independence Day,
Aka the 4th of July,
The historic celebrations,
'N all that that implies.

Psychedelic fireworks exploding,
Against the black, black sky,
Commemorating thirteen Colonies,
On another land no longer rely.

During the American Revolution,
Second Continental Congress doth resolve,
Legal separation from Great Britain,
An important issue successfully solved.

They'll be partying across the splendid US of A,
No lack of celebration they'll be this Independence Day,
We'll have municipal parades, public'n private events,
This Federal Holiday shall surely, joyously be spent.

Thinkin' 'bout courage and love,
Of the soldiers' Freedom Fight,
Leaving family and goin' to war,
So their homeland rests at night.

Many lives of the young are altered,
When joining that military life,
Soldiers going to war,
So this country lives without strife.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!
HAPPY 4th of July everybody!!!

The previous poem was written before I knew many states had banned fireworks due to drought and wildfires.

Jabber, it's a great poem, regardless. And those who can't watch live fireworks still had ample opportunity to watch some great ones on TV. I think NBC, CBS and PBS all had programs featuring patriotic music and fireworks...

GET WELL CHATTY

They say, Boomers' Chatty isn't feeling that well,
And I know stuff about her, now I'm gonna tell.

She's a ghost writer, poet, and editor, you see,
And this gal's a large help to little ole me.

Therefore, Father God, let it be Your Will,
I pray You'll restore Chatty from being so ill.

If I post a post, write a poem, or remark,
She quickly replies with wisdom and spark.

Get Well Chatty, you know I'm totally sincere,
BWS has brought us together and you're greatly needed here.

Now thats not fair, you made me cry 'happy' tears.

I will do my best to heal and get well.

I love it here cause ladies like you jabber make this place swell!

Rather know of happy tears,
Than sad tears any day,
Regarding that, I'm thinking this,
And here's all I have to say,
May goodness and mercy and blessings galore,
Invade your life like never before.
