Ladies, would you be kind enough to help me out here? We surveyed our NABBW members and made a list of their topics of interest/concerns at this stage in life. This was done when we were preparing the editorial calendar near the end of '08. Knowing some of you aren't members, I'm curious to hear what you are most interested in staying educated about at midlife. Here are a few to give you an idea of what we're looking for:

- Health insurance, or lack thereof

- Downsizing and organizing - home, office, life

- How to live frugally

- Maintaining healthy relationships with adult children

- Retirement - am I on the right track?

These are just a few.

Please feel free to share your top ten, or just a few topics of most importance to you as a boomer woman.

Thanks a bundle.

The childless boomer and any issues that may surround us in our "world". No kids/grandkids, legacies to leave. Singleness and childless etc.

Our website says alot about this.

Another one I thought of:

Offering Customer Service the way it used to be. (If Boomer Women are still in the workplace and have an opportunity to give service the way it was back then!)

Financial planning. (though I know any U.S. advisor what they say ...probably 20% would not apply to non-Americans). Make sure Dotsie, you choose not just a financial planner, but someone who proactively lobbies for seniors at the national level and has astute understanding of some tax laws, etc. I recommended a strong advocate to one friend who is retired and is running at cost workshops for seniors. The speaker is a tax lawyer but she has a strong record of charity work in giving her expertise to non-profit organizations for past few decades. Person could also cover all sorts of supplemental stuff, related to consumer fraud, identity theft.

Where to live as one ages after retirement.

Maintaining healthy friendships.

Intergenerational healthy relationships. HOw to keep them healthy.

Fostering healthy habits for quality of life.

Chose financial planners wisely; it's my understanding they get an overall percentage.

1. Retirement planning
2. Healthcare and insurance
3. Educating boomers about all aspects of Medicare and what it entails for when they retire or reach qualifing age for it.
4. Issues of all kinds with adult children, including ways of handling adult children who are still financially dependent on us and are having a harder time of leaving the nest or becoming financially dependent as we get older.
5. Finding love or maintaining your love relationship as we get older.
6. Issues of all kinds with grandchildren.
7. Making decisions about housing when it's just you or you and spouse and the kids have moved out, do you sell the big house and move into a smaller place or keep it?
8. Doing all the remodel or other projects or hobbies now you have put off for so long, because of work or child raising.
9. Fashion - looking our best as we get older.
10. Education - going back to college at mid-life to change careers or for that Masters or Phd - or just to take classes on a subject that has always interested you, never too late to learn, right? LOL

Boomer-friendly places to travel, or fun vacation spots for boomers.

And I like the how to stay tech-savvy topic--things are just evolving so fast, my head spins.
