Hi Ladies, I used to lurk and communicate but for the last couple of months have not taken the time to come to the site. BUT, I'm back and happy to be here again. Greene 415, better known as Kathy but that name was already taken so I answer to Greene.

Greene works fine, Thank you for the welcome back. I though I would be coming back as a stranger but have been pleasantly surprised.

It is nice to be back and even nicer to be remembered. I wish I could tell a great story about what I have been up to but it would have to be a tall tale. Actually I have been doing nothing much. I did finally get a laptop. It is a Mac so I have put in some time figuring out how to use a different operating system. Other that that there is nothing new. I have kept myself busy staying sane and sober, avoiding housework and visiting with my pregnant (finally!) daughter. Thanks for the warm welcome, ladies, it is appreciated.

Unfortunately I have 4 that need scrubbing as I spend my day playing on line and ignoring the problem.

Years ago I cross-stitched a sign that said 'a clean house is the sign of a misspent life' as a reminder to myself to keep my priorities in line.

Welcome back, Greene415! I like your name. It balances with Red a.k.a. Queen JJ. And, with artic weather set to strike London again, I might as well call myself "Blue" for a few days. When is your daughter due?

Thanks for the warm welcome, Lola. The only problem with the name came when my kids had to learn to spell the color green in school. They always got it wrong at first! The baby isn't due until Sept. It's funny, when my daughter-in-law was expecting I was totally into it and very excited about it all. But somehow it is different with a daughter expecting, somehow I feel more connected to the whole thing. I wonder if that is normal? I hear London can be rough in the winter. How cold has it been so far?

Perfectly normal when it's your daughter, Greene. Weather in London today is max 2 and min -1. So, it feels very brrrrrrrrrr! But, compared to towns up north, it's summertime in London.

Well, it's snowing now which means leaving for work early tomorrow as they did not grit the roads tonight. Monday and delayed trains...not a good combination. Bummer!!!

I have always thought that explanation mde lots of sense, 1/60th of my life flies by much faster that 1/10th or even 1/20th. At this rate it will all be a blur by the time we are 80!

I once read that the speed of the heartbeat has to do with how one conceives time.
A child has a much faster heartbeat than an adult. Therefore time passes slowly for him. When you see senior residents rocking away in their chairs all day, and they say time passes quickly; it's because their heartbeat is so slow.
Same thing with insects. For example, the Mayfly lives only a day, and its heart beats trillion times faster than ours. So his day seems like years.
Makes sense to me.
