SPRING

Somebody tell me,
Where is spring,
With temps 33 degrees,
The birds don't sing.
Still wearing ear muffs,
Gloves on the hands,
Four layers of clothing,
And walking as fast as I can.

RUFFLED FEATHERS

Just last week at my window sat a bird chirping with glee,
the sun on her tail, how she did prevail, a wonderful site to see.

Then later the same week, not a peep can be heard,
the same bird sits quietly in the wind.

Her feathers blow badly, she sits there quite sadly, waiting for the sun to return.

I must share my feelings, my emotions are reeling as one more day the weather is bad.

I sit inside out of the cold,
while the little birds all so bold bare the cold,
feathers fluffed around them trying to keep warm.

I wish I could open my door forever more so these tiny feathered babies could fly inside,
Give them shelter from the changing weather and a warm place to reside.

My handyman just left after he did my bidding,
three nice new birdhouses are built, two more are coming and no I'm not kidding...

Power of Words

Live'n learn, isn't it a fact,
Watch what you say, stay right on track.

Using wrong words can knock you down,
Loving, warm words, turn frowns around.

Some words 'll make you, fly high as a kite,
Others 'll keep you awake at night.

Some words can bring grown men to their knees,
Other words can make unbelievers, believe.

Watch what you say, it's oh so true,
The use of wrong words can make you blue!

The Easter Bunny

Today I rose early and what did I see,
a little white bunny looking right at me.

I slowly rose afraid he would disappear,
I didn't want him to have any fear.

I moved ever closer to the cage he was in,
as he munched on some lettuce sitting in a tin.

As I got closer and closer he wriggled his pink nose,
thats when my mom and daddy asked, if I liked the bunny they choose?

I rushed into their arms screaming with glee,
you mean this sweet bunny belongs to me?

I will never forget that happy Easter day,
and hsving bunny by my side the next 9 Easter holidays

It has been so long now since bunny went to heaven,
but last week my own sweet daughter turned seven.

Her dad and I bought a bunny for her today,
we're waiting for her to awaken and begin her Easter holiday.

There is nothing quite like a bunny, so soft, loving and true,
when he is comfy and happy he'll twitch his little pink nose at you...

Happy Faces

How I just love these happy face emotions,
That can accompany a post, without making any commotion.
I cannot explain it, can't tell you why,
Poetry soothes my soul, like a clear blue sky.

Never claimed my poems were great works of art,
Didn't say they were good, clever, or smart,
They're just small expressions, bubbling from the heart.

ROYAL WEDDING

On April 29th. Prince William took a bride,
Kate Middleton his long time girlfriend stood at his side.

In a catherdal so enormous the couple looked so small,
yet to everyone there they looked 10 feet tall.

Queen Elizabeth was there all dressed in yellow,
she looked radiant and smiled warmly, often, looking quite mellow.

The wedding affair took quite sometime under layer upon layer,
each church officiate seemed to add to the prayer.

Prince William as always looked handsome, as if on duty,
while Kate Middleton in her gorgeous gown was a regal beauty.

There was much more to come, a breakfast and party at night,
but no cameras were allowed to keep our eyes out of sight.

It was worth staying up for and I'd do it again,
This particular wedding made us all feel we were friends.

God Bless the happy couple and Long Live the Queen...

If we look in a mirror what do we see?
I see a person I recognize looking back at me.

Sometimes we're happy and have a big smile,
other times we're sad and tears flow for awhile.

How does one make themselves underestood,
some see you widdling while others see chopping wood.

Are you simply joking or trying to be glib?
Do they believe your words or think your a fib?

When you come to the forum do you always bring your best?
Or do you post with confrontation but to that not attest?

This is a place of solace, a grouping of sharp minds,
women who have had similar lifes sorrows understand in kind.

All in all we are strangers and never the twain shall meet,
but for some meetings have occured and they were truly neat.

In a perfect world all would be well and everyone agree,
but since that isn't possible, I offer you all a cyber HUG from me...

Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo celebrations began,
With college students paying tribute,
To Mexican Heritage, way back when.

Waving their flags of red, white, green,
The City of Los Angeles,
Hosts the biggest party, ever seen.

Mexican food and dancing in the street,
Makes Cinco de Mayo hoopla,
So much fun, it can't be beat!

HONEY

Honeybunch pass the honey,
I've a sore throat and cannot eat,
Honey's the only food I can swallow,
That doesn't send pain dartin' to my feet.

Honeybee, such healing power,
Your sweet honey doth provide,
I'll be stocking jars of honey,
'Til headin' homeward in the sky.
