Hi, This is my first day here. I would like to know if any of you have had an experience with bleeding after menopause, and what, if anything, came of it. I'm 55 and I had a fullblown period last month after having none for six years. I've been to the gynecologist and had some tests done, but am waiting for results. Naturally, I'm worried. Any helpful input would be appreciated.

I personally have not but a woman I know had spotting at age 61 for several months and then a heavier episode a month later. Her doctor did tests and it seems a large fibroid was the culprit. They were able to dissolve it without surgery and all was okay. That was ten years ago. I hope its something as simple as that in your case. Welcome Gloria, so glad you found us.

Gloria,
I had some post menopausal bleeding but it subsided without a problem. There are a few different reasons it occurs, I guess. 1) Hormone replacement therapy; 2) Uterine polyps; 3) cuts outside the vagina; 4) sex. Here are some websites that may help: medicinenet; RightHealth; mayoclinic, all R (.com!)
Good luck. Welcome to boomerwomenspeak!
Prayers and blessings,
bonnie rose
