Living in the ‘great white north’ leaves little room for an exciting life. I am a very proud mother of 3 children which are currently flying from the nest, leaving me with my preciously-loved dachshunds, Oscar and Meyer, along with their big fat sister cat named Cuddles.

Entering into my 50th year, I feel I want to give something back. I feel a need to promote health & fitness to baby boomers so I started my new life creating books. I invite you to view my handbooks and workbooks at www.siscanbooks.com I would also like to introduce to you my latest (and proudest) book called “My Personal BABYBOOMER RETIREMENT Book”. It is a combined Journal, Memory and family information book to assist every baby boomer to ease into retirement years.

Since joining the NABBW back in February, I have been visiting this sister site continuously and I am overwhelmed by the kindness and warmth of the forums. I feel very comfortable in this community and I intend to continue to be a part of it.

Sincerely, L.M. Richard

Welcome LRich!

This is a great site! It's been a blessing to me during a recent challenge.

(I'm a vintage boomer and am entering my 59 year, so "fifty" sounds young to me!)

Well said, Irich and welcome to the forums! We're so glad you've chosen to join in on the fun and create a home here with us. I guarantee you that you'll be glad you did. We have several active members from Canada, and ones that use to live there, so I'm sure you all have a lot in common.

I checked out your books yesterday, along with your sister's cat book. All very good!

Once again welcome! Take your shoes off, grab some java or the drink of your choice, and have some fun. You're gonna luv it here.

Thanks for the welcome emjay. Somehow I feel I need to be a part of this community as I learn to adjust to my empty nest. I too feel this site will assist me in getting thru my newest life challenge.

Irich, welcome aboard. I am in my mid 50's (I was about to say early, and suddenly realized I am creeping into my middle 50"s) and have been hanging around here for about one year.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Thank you JJ for the warm welcome! I checked out your site as well...(thanks for visiting mine) and you have 2 of my most favorite life pleasantries—reading and laughing. I will definitely be picking up a copy of your book on my next book run. (up here in the ‘great white north’ we can’t just go and get a copy so we order books by the group).

And about my sister, she is on her way to publishing her second book as well and we have this joint venture on our site to promote all of our books together. She lives in Ontario and I in Manitoba and we work together through the internet. Electronics are great that way! I am going to introduce her to this forum which I am certain she will join.

Warmest regards JJ

Linda

Thank you Anno. It would seem that you and I have a couple of things in common….I have 4 hardcopy workbooks and 4 digital download workbooks. The focus of my books is geared towards babyboomer’s health and fitness and are available at www.lulu.com as well. I am looking forward to being a member of this community.

Thank you fellow Canadian….I am pleased to be here even though I am from way up in the ‘great white north’. I was raised on country sunshine just outside of Toronto. I do enjoy cycling, all though not as passionately as you. I have a health and fitness routine I follow. It pleases me to hear that you are focusing on your health AND your passion. That is very important to me—health and wellness combined. Keep up the good work with your dedication to cycling. I am committed to my well-balanced lifestyle covering fitness, health and wellness.

Regards,

Linda

That's intriguing, since there aren't a lot of us left. My Dad was a Mennonite; his family did live in Manitoba for awhile when he was very young, then settled in the Niagara area of Southern Ontario. We still have lots of relatives in the Leamington area, but only a few of them have the same last name. I wonder if there's a connection somewhere way back in the family tree...
