Thanks for the input,ladies. It's not a done deal, yet. I'm told I can monitor myself and see how I do for the next six months. It may keep me from going back into education though, since kids are just walking germ factories.

Chick, IAHA is idiosyncratic autoimmune hemolytic anemia -- fancy way of saying my body likes to destroy its red blood cells too early. With the right drugs and lifestyle I remain in remission. If I slip up, my hemoglobin drops so low they have to transfuse, and if it happens too much, or they can't fix me that way, the next step is to remove the spleen. So-o-o, needless to say, I try to behave!
