Georgia and Dotsie meet!

Sorry to cover up a post about chatty meeting her heart-throb, but I'm dying to share.

Guess who's coming to Baltimore? You guessed it. The QUEEN. Finally, after all these years, the two of us are going to meet face to face. She's flying in Friday and staying until Sunday afternoon and I can't wait. I've got all kinds of fun little jaunts planned.

We'll be sure to jump in the forums together and take lots of pictures.

Any other forum meetings coming up?

What happens in Baltimore, stays in Baltimore. As far as pic's go, I'm bringing my digital so I can control all the pic's taken. hahahah...

I cannot wait to get there and hear their accents in person. You know those people talk funny!

All kidding aside, this is going to be the highlight of my year!

Whoops...I have TWO highlights this year. I almost forgot. When I get back from Dotsie's, Chick is going to be in my hometown so Jane and I are suppose to drive over and have dinner with her one night. Is that cool or what?

Boomers meeting boomers. We should have a reunion page or something where we could post these pic's. Or not.

I would be jealous but Anno and I have started a monthly The Secret group (only 3 so far but it's a start). Watch out Baltimore...you're about to get injected with some Southern humor.

Next Wednesday will be our first meeting. Miss Anno, being a life coach, is working on different thoughts to explore. I think it will evolve into something it's supposed to be, on it's own. We're three women who want to practice The Secret, explore our inner-selves and live an abundant life. We're all very excited and it's kind of strange how we have come together. It was supposed to happen, that much I know for sure.

I didn't realize Dotsie and JJ haven't met! Two great minds in one place...the city will never be the same. You will so share, JJ, cause Dotsie will tell us.

Okay, you little whiney butt, I'll share. (insert Queenly giggle).

Anno, I couldn't be closer to Dotsie if I HAD met her. She is my bud, through and through. I would trust her with my grandchildren, and honey, that says it all. Course I don't have to tell ya'll, as you've all grown to love her dearly.

Besides, she tells me I'm funny. After that, what's not to love?

How exciting and I have met Dotsie for lunch and hope to do it again . JJ. how a wonderful time with Dotsie lots of things to see and do here in Baltimore , Ejoy your stay . I am up the road from you all.

True story: When my boys were teenagers we went to Oregon on vacation. We went into a McDonald's and my three guys all tried to order biscuits and gravy for breakfast.

The little girl taking our order turned around and looked up at the menu board and then turned back around and looked at us thoroughly confused. I know she thought they had added a new food and nobody told her.

I said, Hon (talking to my husband) they don't have biscuits and gravy up here.

No grits, no bisquits and gravy. They have iced tea but it isn't going to taste the way you think it will. It's going to have lemon in it! I happen to like both iced tea (with lemon) and sweet tea. Son't worry, I'm sure you will find lots and lots of good food up north!

I would love to fly in for the meetings but unfortunately that isn't a possibility for me right now. If you girls ever decide to go internet, I'd love to join in.

The reason I'm a believer is that I've seen this work many times on small items. My son used to be able to do this all the time. I mean anything he wanted as a child would come to him totally unexpected. My husband has done this on occasion too, especially with the contacting lost people. I always just thought it was weird the way these things would happen. Now I know better.

Optimum, I thought of you this morning while going through old Christmas cards (I'm cleaning becasue the queen is coming to town) and wondered how you were doing. GREAT to see you dear friend. Hey Dotsie, it is great to see you too! Yes, we are moved and I love the new place. It is so cozy. Dad is doing alright. His tumor is stable and he isn't receiving chemo treatment anymore. The Dr. gave him the go ahead to travel. So mom and dad are traveling to Greece as we speak. I talked to my parents this morning and Dad sounded more excited than he has in a long time! Funny, his hair grew back rapidly and it's thicker than it was before. I didn't expect to see that! Haven't been around much, it seems that there has been one thing after the other. Actually, I stayed off the internet for a little while!

Your Majesty, you are going to love the harbor, it is beautiful there!

Man I can't wait to hear about the adventures of the Queen and her Ambassador!

Another day is about to begin with the queen in residence. No surprise here...I'm up and at 'em and she's still in bed. No lie!

We walked into town last night and had a scrumptious dinner. Then she talked us into walking to the ice cream store where they have homemade Oreo ice cream. Quess who got some? Yup, she sure did.

She probably has an oreo hangover.

Although Dotsie, the time for your post on my computer is 3:53 am. Does that mean it's 6:53 am on the east coast when you posted? It's Saturday, girl! Let 'er sleep in a tad.

...and I bore witness. I popped in on Dotsie yesterday in order to greet and meet the mythic JJ. There she was, live and in person! Her Southern accent is much stronger in person than on line, I have to say. She had recovered from the Oreo hangover by the time I got there and we all sat in the kitchen, sipping drinks and chatting. The morning was almost gone before I knew it.

Wait a second, Dotsie -- she talked you into walking over to Moxley's for ice cream? That's not the version I heard! LOL

JJ -- I hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit. The Inner harbor? Federal Hill? Cafe Hon? We worked behind the scenes to arrange good weather for you yesterday but we're going to have to pay for it in the days ahead, I'm afraid.

Yuhoooooooooooooooo! Honey, I'm homeeeeeee. I don't know what I enjoyed the most. The food, the wonderful company (DJ, your visit gave me such a boost! Ladies, DJ is a pure delight. I hope you get the honor of meeting her!) or just handing out with Dots and Mr. Dots. I told them I don't know why they have vehicles cause they walk everywhere they go. No, make that hike. Good grief...no wonder they are so "fit."

I have to say I was treated like a Queen. They wouldn't let me lift a finger (not that I tried that hard) and I've never been fed so well...holy smokes. When I got home I wanted to call them and find out if they could get me a pizza delivered. I'm spoiled rotten. They made me a part of their family. I was given food, drink, and love. What more could one ask for? I swear I didn't even mind that the house didn't contain any Oreos. I mean it.

I only had one bad experience. That was when I arrived in Huntsville but my luggage didn't. Somewhere out there is a man/woman wearing new clothes, looking at pictures of my family, and enjoying the gifts I purchased for the grandkids. Seems 10 other families didn't get their luggage either. That made me feel a little better. At least it wasn't just me.

We went to see Ross at work. I forgot to take her to the Cross Street Market, darn it. We had lunch with Ross at Reggie's, then we drove around the harbor. We chose not to shop there becasue they have all the same chains everyone has at home. We left there and went to Hamden where the majority of shop owners are women! The weather was beautiful, the women shop owners had a ball with the southern humorist and her accent, and her presence was the best!

I'm glad you had a good visit, but JJ, you should have come here. I have Oreo's in my pantry.

JJ, it's true. We stay connected via a message board just like this, since 1999.
And through our daily scheduled chat, through instant messaging and phone calls.
And sometimes a bunch of us will meet in an online scrabble game room
We have regular "meets" each year.
All of us are boomer age and our friendship way outweighs any differences.
These gals are so like sisters to me. I belong to a few other
boomer groups as well, but I think that is my largest LOL!!

I'm back and so glad to say I met two precious ladies, JJ and Jane. Yes, I was hanging on to Jane. I am such a touchy feely kinda gal.

I hated to say goodbye - just not enough time to get it all in. It was more like a reunion than a first meeting. They picked me up and treated me to a delicious lunch and oh we chatted. Thank you again girls.

I am glad that MOH got to meet them. He enjoyed their company when we got back to the hotel.

I would love to meet more of you. It is so uplifting.
Jane, I read your book on the way home and we played "I spy." after I read about it. We laughed so hard.

I've produced 2 children's plays. When my boys were younger. I loved it, but it was an all-encompassing thing. People have no idea what 'hugamentous' (no, can't find this in the dict.) work goes on behind the scenes.
