Cathi, One of my best friends is going through the identical situation with her broker. We live in NY and the market is terrible at the moment. She had 2 open houses. The first one no one showed. The second showed 2 other agencies. Only 4 people have looked since Sept. 11th. She is into contract on a new house and stands to lose thousands! The house is immaculate at all times, looks like a house in Home and Gardens. Only 2 of them live there, kids are grown and gone. If only they could get potential buyers we are sure it would sell. They had 2 low-ball offers, even after they reduced the house by 50 thousand. Let's face it, they can't give it away. According to our local news, they say things should change in the market by January. Good Luck!
