I have been to London and it was back when my husband and I had been married for about a year. He was a student, I was working, and I won this trip.

I recall the hotel rooms being very small and basic, yet everything we needed was there. I guess we are spoiled as Americans with all the frills.

Anyway, something I will never forget is that we were doing the site-seeing thing and visited Westminister Abbey. It was breathtaking from the outside but we were on a tight budget. I still can't believe we did this but since my husband was more into architecture I stayed out and walked around the outside and we paid for him to do the inside tour. What were we thinking?

Now I could kick myself. I remember telling my mom that and she got such a kick out of it. There must have been other ways to stay within our budget!

Anyway, moral of the story- don't be cheap. Go for it and find ways to cut back expenditures that make more sense!
