I'm posting this article into our "Domestic Violence" section, since I know a lot of homeless women are victims of domestic violence.

I just saw a compelling article from an Australian publication about what was called "the homeless period." The concept being, it is much more difficult to deal with your monthly menstrual period when you are living on the streets.

I figure if this is an overlooked issue in Australia, it's probably a similar problem in the US or the UK.

So I've decided that from now on, I will include boxes of tampons and sanitary napkins in my donations to homeless shelters. Seems like an easy thing to do...
