I just saw an article about vacationing in a lighthouse. Somehow this sounds very appealing to me. I can imagine the views would be fantastic and I'd love hearing the sounds of the surf lulling me to sleep.

I think it's amazing that several of our country's lighthouses have been (apparently)decommissioned, and turned into museums and/or B&B's.

Here's the link to the lighthouse slideshow, which includes links, in case anyone wants to visit the individual websites and book a visit for a night, or even a month!

But that got me started thinking: What's the most unusual vacation lodging/destination you've ever encountered?
For example, has anyone ever spent the night in an igloo? A treehouse? A converted "Wild West" jail?

If not, would you ever think of something unique like this?
