I learned about this book from mscoach, Gregory Ann Cox, when she did a teleseminar with the NABBW about healthy eating. The teleseminar is available on the Members Only page at www.nabbw.com

Anyway, I bought the book and love it. It's not the kind of book you sit down and read word for word. It's more of a picture book. One side of the page says: Eat This and the other side says Not That.

It's broken down into chapters like Eating Out, Supermarket, Drink This, Not That, etc.

You'll find photos of all your favorite food containers and which you should eat and which you should stay away from.

Let me give you a couple examples:

Haagen-Dazs:

Eat Zesty Lomon Sorbet - 100 calories,
not Mango Ice Cream - 250 calories

It also has the fat and sugars listed for each food too.

McDonald's
Eat this (now this is surprising) Quarter Punder - 410 calories
Not the Premium Grilled Chicken Club - 570 caloreis
Weird huh?

also McDonald's
Eat an Egg mcMuffin - 300 calories
not the hotcakes - 610 calories.

Wild, huh?

I am used to a lot of this because of hubby and daughter being a diabetic, but this is great.

Have any of you eaten at Outback? Have you gotten the Bloomin' Onion? Half of a Bloomin' Onion is 1,155 calories, THAT's HALF! The Aussie Fries which have cheese and bacon on them - are 2,900 calories!

If any of you eat out and are interested in knowing the caloric content of your food, let me know and I'll look it up for you. They have most of the chain places listed.

PF Chang's Pork Lo Mein (there's a PF Chang opening within walking distance so I thought I'd check it out) 1,820 calories. Can you imagine?

Here's another:
Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll: 813 calories!
