This is an excerpt from an email I got from the daughter of a dear friend who passed away from cancer 6 years ago. I hadn't seen or spoken to the daughter for at least 4 years, and she found me via an internet search. The letter touched me so much and I just wanted to share it.

Quote:

You always made my mom so happy. I also wanted to let you know that your poem that you wrote for my mom when she passed away meant so much to me, my dad and my brothers and is still on my dad's refrigerator and it is read every day. (I read it every day until I married a little over two years ago.) I just wanted to let you know how much your smile, your love, your cheer and your words meant to my mom (and to me) when she was alive and how much your beautiful poem still means to us almost six years later.

I don't even think I did anything all that special -- but sometimes it's the little things, the things that are so easy for us, that mean so much to someone else.
