Yes, I've done this several times, although it was many years ago. I did my parents' wedding photo for a 50th anniversary gift, my in-law's wedding photo, and another wedding photo of a friend's daughter. I used The Stitchery for the kit, and it was a fairly simple procedure. You send in the photo and in a few weeks they send back the kit with the required floss and a chart and pattern for a counted cross stich project (not stamped). You can order full color, black and white or sepia toned.
I checked out their website and they appear to still be selling the product. I can highly recommend the quality.
