The hub comes home early yesterday, says we'll go out to dinner. I'm wearing some new ankle boots trying to break them in and rough up the bottoms. Stepped onto area rug and slipped head first into the stereo cabinet. Next thing I knew, hub was screaming my name and blood was spraying everywhere. I have a three-four inch gash at the hairline and it's very sore. So glad it wasn't on my face. The fall didn't help my neck any either. So much for going out to dinner.

He wanted to take me to the hospital but I wouldn't go. If it was laid open, I would have but scalp wounds bleed so heavily it looked much worse than it was. My entire face was running with blood and he threw his shirt away, there was so much blood on it. I'm still soaking my blouse. What a night. I'm such a klutz!

They aren't very high but have wood soles...not pointy. Okay, I did try on a pair of my pointy boots and it hurt so that was a no go. As a matter of fact, we're going out to dinner with some business associates tonight but I've had a headache all day. Some good food might take care of that! Can you believe what a klutz I am? It runs in my family.

Ouch is right!!! Sounds like the area rug was the culprit or maybe those boots weren't made for walkin'. Head injuries cn be dangerous. Keep a close watch.

Wow, Diane, quite a spill you had there. If the headache continues, please get to your doctor. HUGS! Cindy

I wore brown, round toed, heels that lace up to the ankle. First time I've worn them and they were very comfy for new shoes. Do they make smashing granny shoes? Have never seen any but it might be time.
Head is better, just sore. I continue to have new bruises pop up from this fall but I bruise easily so it's no big deal. I always have a bruise on me somewhere.
It just bugs me that my neck is stiff again. I'm doing my physical therapy stretches. I'm telling you--this is a family thing. My oldest daughter can be walking in flat shoes and fall over. We're quite the family.

Oh Dear, Dianne! Please do take care -- I wonder if (although unattractive) a Thermacare patch would help. I've learned that applying heat (Thermacare patch, microwave heat pack, electric heat pad, etc.) and then alternate with cold (frozen food, ice, etc.) at the soonest onset of a nasty bruise (and a painful one) helps speed up the healing process and alleviate the pain and nasty bruising. Hope you feeling better soon!
