How do you clean your silver? There has to be an easier way than polishing every little piece by hand. Thanksgiving is at our home this year so I have to get busy! I'm looking for short-cuts.

Hi, Dotsie: Try soaking them in warm/hot water and vinegar at 1:1/2 ratio or stronger as required.

I'm glad someone could help you Dotsie, because I don't have silver. Our good tableware is the heavy duty plastic kind, rather than the cheapo kind. That's how you know we're celebrating!! (kidding, but I really don't have silver)

$24.95!!! I use aluminum foil sometimes as a cheaper alternative, Hannelore. But only once a year as a general clean. Do you use it all the time?

Hi, JJ: Toothpaste and flour paste also helps. But that takes a lot of rubbing! And I do it only for penance Wash and go...wash and go. Just like my hair

I pretty much only use my inherited silverware once a year. And I use Tarn-X to clean it. It really does work as good as in the commercials, just dip the silver in it and presto, the silver looks fabulous. I still wash the pieces afterward to make sure there's no residue.

In fact, it's such a quick and easy job with Tarn-X (available at grocery stores), that my daughter usually volunteers to do it.

You can get that tray at Ebay at a pretty good price. My Mom gave me hers, so I never bought it. That was the best deal.
I use it only once a year, before the Christmas holidays, and everything stays untarnished the rest of the year.
