For the most part I'm content in my little nest. I do miss my girls but I'm very proud of the delightful women that they have become. We talk often and it's almost like they are here...almost!

Jane, tell me about your girls. How many and where are they? What are they doing? If our kids are happy, it usually means we are happy too, huh?

My daughter goes to college about a half hour from home. She just started in August so all this is new.
Last night she and her boyfriend came here for dinner. It was so much fun having her breeze in and out. The four of us ate picnic style in the bedroom because of my knee. I was so happy they took time out of their busy schedules to pay me a visit. It meant so much.

Also, earlier in the day, the florist man came to the door with three pink roses in a vase from her. They were for Mommy Bregel. I was so touched. It's the first time she's been away from home and thought of me on her very own. It meant so much. Plus, we have a pink rose thing going and I didn't know if she was really aware of it. I have a few rose bushes, but always cut pink ones for her room and her birthday if any were still in bloom. Even in the midst of all the craziness these past couple days, I am counting my blessings!

Talked to my daughter again late last night. She's still feeling rotten physically, and kinda depressed. This morning, my 2nd daughter phoned and said she talked with the younger one today and offered her own two cents. I'm so glad the girls have sisters to turn to. Sometimes their advice is taken more easily than Mom's. I know I have turned to my own sisters a lot over the years.

Dotsie,

Jennifer is 27 and lives about 45 minutes from me. She's very near to JJ's mom--only about 10 minutes. She works for a marketing company and her husband works for the newspaper. They were both English majors. They have a dog and a cat for children for the time being. We'll see what happens later.

Sarah is almost 26 lives in central Florida. (yes they are 18 months apart...what was I thinking?) She and her husband are both civil engineers. They have my new little dumpling granddaughter, Bailey. Sarah is currently staying at home and doing some free-lance work for an Engineering firm there.

I am quite blessed that they have always gotten along well, even as children. I just can't relate when people talk about the terrible teenage years even though we did have our minor ups and downs.

I'm glad you got pink roses...they're my favorite, too.
