Just thought I would share a little prayer which most of you have heard by now.

My sister told me about the book a couple years ago and I devoured it. I now have the daily tear off calendar and weekly calendar for constant reminders. I very often journal this prayer at the end of my prayer time.

I have found it to be life changing. I shared it with Jawjaw behind the scenes (Via E-mail) the other day. She ran right out, bought the book and journal (I still don't have the journal) and was very grateful for the hot tip!

I found myself asking why I hadn't shared it in the forum yet...so here goes:

Oh, that You would bless me indeed,
and enlarge my territory,
that Your hand would be with me,
and that You would keep me from evil.

One of the crazy stories about this prayer is that the day I was on the live television show, the make-up artist and I got around to discussing faith...and we shared this prayer together. She could also recite it!

So simple yet so profound!
Hope you like it!

It is a wonderful book to read and a short read too. A friend sent me the CD (musical) yesterday and I love it as well.

At the time I bought this book (on sale), there was another one "The Secrets of the Vine" also on sale. I felt a tremendous amount of understanding once I had read both of these books. They are not to read one time, no! no! Read it over and over.

I intend to read The Prayer of Jabez at least once a week. Do your heart a favor and read this book!

Life is sweet.

Considering the fact that I'm pretty sure you're a speed reader, I think that's an achievable goal

hmmm.... time to dust that book off the shelf and read through it again. I've also read "A Life God Rewards" by the same author - we did a Bible Study on it at church.

Evie,
I would be interested in knowing what you thought of that book. I haven't read it yet but I think I want to. And no, I am not a speed reader, these are really short books and I don't have a life...hahaha....seriously, I set aside a certain amount of time to read at night. It is either read, or be on the computer. Some nights I just need the break away from writing...you know?

hmmm...can't remember whether I liked the book or not - what I remember more is the Bible Study we did around it - the concept of "rewards" and working now for later rewards in heaven was one that most of us had some difficulty wrapping our heads around - Christians aren't supposed to want rewards are they???? - but then most of us had to admit that being told at the end of this life "well done, good and faithful servant" was something we wanted to hear I'll look over the book and my notes again later tonight and let you know if I have any other "insights" on it.

Read or write????? Read or write???? Always a dilemma, so little time - so many books - so much to write.....

Thanks Evie...don't go to a lot of trouble. I'll probably end up buying it anyway to add to the collection and good and inspirational reading.

Talk about running out of time...I think someone shorted me my 24 hours! I'm getting further and further behind. YIPES!

Isn't there another one out on the Prayer of Jabez for Women? My neighbor brings me a lot of these books and I love them all. Anything inspirational and short.
I put the Prayer of Jabez up in my Craft room now I need to read it again. Thanks for reminding us about it.

After sharing with everyone about this little book I found myself looking for it agn and darn if I can't find it!
