Additional information

This book, Letters to God is part of the Correspondence Series. It inflects the survivor’s stance. Letters to God delves into the survivor’s innermost thoughts and beliefs which are communicated to God via a precious letter. Your letter will be part of this book series. The letters in the series will contain real answers from people as to how they survived the worst ordeal of their lives.

Who is the God in Letters to God? God refers to the survivor's source of strength--the existence of any source of strength, whether in the form of a spiritual Being, an object, transcendental, or non-existence with impetus on self-reliance/self-sustainability, absent spiritual fervor. It does not matter who or what your God is, or if you solely depend on self. We just want to hear from you. Let us know!

We seek real answers from true survivors. The letters that my grandmother and I wrote to God helped me be a survivor today. We want you, the survivor to impart the knowledge of what helped you. Let us know the important and significant principles, messages, and concepts affiliated with your survival. Your letter should answer at least one of these questions? Feel free to answer all of these questions (if applicable). What important realities of your God enabled you to survive? What important realities are associated with you as the sole architect of your survival? What did grandma say regarding God during the ordeal? What kept you motivated to survive? What transformed your life? What helped you?

We are seeking letters from people who faced unbelievable challenges and insurmountable odds, as well as survivor letters relative to: illness (fatal medical conditions, incurable medical conditions, chronic medical conditions, etc.), debilitating medical conditions (incapacitation, etc.), depression, death (death of a spouse, death of a parent, death of a child, death of a friend, survival of clinical death, death due to a fatal accident, death due to a plane crash, death due to a criminal act, suicide, etc.), divorce, (impact on children, financial devastation, etc.), addictions (drug abuse and/or alcohol abuse), motherhood (single parenthood (single mom-unwed mother, absent spouse-military deployment, absent spouse-death of a spouse, absent spouse-divorce, absent spouse-spouse in prison, mother/father as head of household, grandmother/grandfather as head of household for grandchildren, disasters (fires, tornados, hurricanes, terrorist attacks, etc.), poverty (homelessness, hunger), segregation, bankruptcy, health insurance crisis (escalating medical bills with no health insurance), veteran war stories, bad marriage-spousal abuse, out of control children/step-children, teen pregnancy, college dilemmas (failing grades, limited financial resources, etc.), and other challenges incurred.

Let us know what you believe and how you survived!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
LOCAL GIRL MAKES GOOD

Vicki Craig knows what it is like to live with adversity. As a child she was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and told by physicians that she would never be able to do the ordinary things that other children enjoy. Not one to give up easily, Vicki took the prudent advice of her grandmother and wrote a letter to God asking for his heavenly assistance. With courage and determination, she beat the odds graduating from three universities and working as a celebrated attorney. The beginning of her fifteen minutes of fame arrived when Tim Burton was casting his background players for his movie, Big Fish, in Montgomery, Alabama. Although the shoot date was rained out, she still reflectively discusses the experience of being treated like a bona fide movie star relative to her wardrobe fittings. Not long after that adventure, an independent film When I Find the Ocean cast Ms. Craig as an extra, as well as harnessed Ms. Craig’s eloquence by offering her a position assisting with production, extras casting, and publicity that landed Vicki, not only in the film and her name listed in the film credits, but also landed Vicki on television in Selma, as well as afforded her the opportunity to gain valuable insight about Hollywood and the film industry. The doctors were right about Vicki--she’s not an ordinary person. She is an extraordinary hometown celebrity who walks her talk, while encouraging others to overcome their obstacles through prayer, reflection, and good old fashion positive attitudes. Letters to God-Out of the Mouths of Survivors is Vicki Craig’s first book and bound to be just the beginning of a bestselling Letters to God series for this vivacious and graced-filled woman.
