I start orientation at a new nursing job tomorrow morning. I hate to leave Mt. Joseph nursing home, but the 12 hour shifts are very hard on me now since my surgeries. Actually, they always were hard on me, but now I tire so much easier and faster.
Anyway, this nursing home is a much smaller one, only about 25 beds, so it should be less stress than being in charge of about 60+ residents.
I'll also be working 8 hrs days, compared to 12 hr. nights. I'll get a sign on bonus. I could have gotten twice as much sign on bonus, but that would put me back into evening and nights, and I didn't want that.
I really want this to work out. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Countrygirl, it sounds that you have made some changes for the better. I keep digits crossed here too.

I bet you'll do well. I can hear the tension leaving as you sign. Less stress is best. Make the most of the orientation.

Oh, and congrats. It's nice to see you have options. I remember when you were in nursing school just a couple years ago whenyou were new to BWS!
