I am asking all you prayer warriors to pray for 3 young men from my town, who were in a terrible car accident. Alcohol was involved and all the boys are critical. I don't kow any of them personally, but I'm acquainted with the mom and step dad of one, who has lost his legs and is not expected to make it. His name is Mike and the other boys are Travis and Chase. I pray that they will all pull through and use this experience to warn others not to drink and drive. Thanks, ladies.

Jackie, what a horrible tragedy...I'm adding the 3 boys and their families to my prayer list.

Hi, Jackie: They will be in my prayers. I know how your friend must feel. My son-in-law and grandson were in a headon in 2001. The driver of the oncoming car died in the accident and my son-in-law is not loadbearing on the right leg. My grandson, thankfully was unscathed except for scratches to his right cheek. Our world was turned our upside down and there is nothing that would explain the aches in a mother's heart even for those she is not a mother to. Your friend and her family along with the other boys' will be in our prayer circle.

Jackie: I'm praying for these 3 young men and their families. It's so sad to see all these things happening. I do hope this can serve as a lesson for other young lives.

Thanks for all the prayers and concern. Our local paper came out today and the youngest of the boys, Chase, 20, died yesterday. God's ways are not ours, and we muct acceot that He has a grander plan for all involved.

Hi, Jackie: I hoping for good news...even a tiny one. True, God's plans differ from ours. How are the other two boys?

Found out this morning that another one of the boys, Mikie, died on Sunday.he's the one whose parents I've met a few times. He had just turned 22. There was a prayer service this evening which I was able to attend. Incidentally, I also found out that alcohol was NOT involved. The reason they were all hurt so severely is it was a head on collision with a pick up and none of the boys were wearing seat belts. Very sad for this little town. I discovered that the first boy who died, Chase, is the son of a very nice man I know, who lost his young wife several years ago.

I am so sorry to read about that sad news, Jackie. Shall offer a prayer for Mike and his family. And how is Travis?

I believe Travis is stable. He's the oldest of the 3, 28, and he was the driver. They were just a few cowboys, heading to a rodeo...

Oh, Jackie, this is so sad! I hope Travis makes it. How hard this is even for us, who don't know them! To lose young lives... needlessly (or so it seems). I know God is still in control, but it still saddens me when these things happen. May God grant the relatives peace and comfort.
And... please remember!!! Wear your seatbelts!!!!

Just found out that Travis is not well...they keep putting him in an induced coma and when they bring him out, he's in too much pain. The doctors are saying he will probably not be able to function at all (they use the term "vegetable").
Dotsie, alcohol wasn't involved after all. There is a road here that goes from this town to the next. It's flat and open and you would think it's very safe. There are so many fatal accidents when the road is clear and it's still daylight. It's usually because people think they have time to pass when they don't (the passing lane is very short). I sent both families whose sons have died, sympathy cards with holy cards included. When I went out to lunch, I saw the father of the 20 year old, Travis. I went up to him and even though I don't really know him, he opened his arms for me to hug him. He's such a quiet, gentle cowboy and is wife tragically died only about 4 years ago. So much pain in the world...

I am so sorry to hear this. I can only imagine how hard it is for the parents. I will pray for them and for Travis also.

Just noticed I made a boo boo a few posts up. The man I saw in town was the father of Chase, the 20 yr. old who died first. Travis is the 28 yr. old still in the hospital. I'm sure I will have more info on him after mass this evening.
