Same here Di. Never had kids but love to be around them! We "mother" in lots of other ways though....our gardens, our pets, our husbands (haha), our friends who seek us out for advice/comfort, and in my case I "mother" my writing projects and nurture them as I would a child making his or her way into the world around them.

I've been content...very. I lead an extremely fulfilling life and I know it's the life God wanted me to have so that's good enough for me! [Wink]

Amen, Pam!

Yes, nurturing other things has been my survival. Although my DH calls it "trying to fix everyone", but I just feel it's un-used nurturing gift coming out.

I agree that having a FILLED life is what I do best. I get antsy if I am sitting still for too long. If I'd had babies, I'd probably welcome the "down" time of life. But for some reason, many think that I am "bored" at home, so I put upon myself the "guilt trip" that I should be doing SOMETHING for fear of being bored or lazy...which I am neither!

I, too, feel many come to me for advice. Not sure why. Maybe I alude being mature or stable? Not sure, but it can get old sometimes.

As far as crafts and things, I've tried many things that did not work out. IE: Quilting. I KNOW that is not for me! Someday I'd like to see if I can be a knitter, but I'm already thinking it will be too repetitive for me. I like doing something different all the time. My soapmaking business is just perfect! I think I have found my niche!
