I have spent the past two years not working. This was due to "circumstances" at work.Younger managment and issues I have coped with and put to rest.
Yesterday was my special 60th birthday.

I spent this at a hotel spa with my wonderful daughter. The previous day my cards arrived due to me having a weekend birthday.I returned to yet more cards and two gift which were delivered as I was pampered.

I spent my early morning (I was a three am baby) celebrating my retiral.I journal and write poetry so this time is my most creative.

This is the first working day of my retiral and even although I have had a harrowing time this rite of passage is special.I got more cards than usual from those in my circle...I mentioned at the spa with pride that this treat was my 60th celebration.
To any who are going through dark nights I send blessings and hope.
Lets show 'em girls...we are changing the balance...embrace being a boomers.
Love Mountain Ash

congratulations! enjoy life; walk slower, notice the flowers and the bees, the children laughing, talk to a real old person and note what beautiful eyes they have-- it is the look of knowledge, of knowing that live should be taken in tride. Notice the instruments when listening to a song, talk to strangers, compliment another woman, smile with a stranger, listen to noises you would otherwise ignore, a bus, a train, a dog, someone talking, a plane, the wind, and don't forget to feel the heat of the sun and the breeze on the night. Yes, go slow and take it all in, for that is life.

Maritza, great advice. I'm not retiring, but I'm going to give your suggestions a try. I think I'll eat lunch outside and fell the heat of the sun. It's a great day to do that. Thanks for the thought.

I have been retired for one year, I don't know where the time went! I love it, don't miss the stress and routine of getting up every day, and I love freelance work. No, I'm not bringing in 2000 a month, but I'm many more times that richer!
