I am auditing this awesome, and I do mean AWESOME!, class on the Songs of Solomon, Deeper Intimacy with God. Incredible! God views us (Christians) as the Bride of Christ. When I was reading Sugaree's poem it made me think of the Lord and how deep His love is for us. HE SEES ME! HE KNOWS ME! HE WANTS ME!
In Songs the King is dining with the Shunamite woman (his bride) He tells her she has dove's eyes and she responds "You are so handsome". A dove has no peripheral vision so he is commenting on how focussed she is on Him and she in response is saying how can I not be focussed on you, My Love, you are so handsome!!! It is when we see the "Beauty" of the Lord and see His tenderness, mercy, grace and glory that we become focussed and passionate about Him. In our passion and longing for Him we find our freedom and peace.
I know that is not what this topic is about, but the poem made me think of the Perfect Love and who loves us more perfectly? He sees every frailty, sin, shortcoming, hurt, etc. and calls us Beautiful and His Beloved!
I had missed some of the classes so I bought the CD set along with the workbook to go back and do the lessons I missed. If there is anything I need in this world more than intimacy with God, I don't know what it is.
He is the Kindest Person I have ever met!

Sugar in my Profile it shows two private messages to you. One today the 18th and the one on the 17th. It shows them unread and I don't know how to resend them to you, maybe Dotsie can help you retrieve them. Putting this here so I'm sure you'll see it, no sense sending another private message.... Mixedm, you have it all figured out. That is something to be proud of. Many women go through similar and never get it. So take what you've learned and reach for the stars! The world awaits you and you're only at midlife! thanks for sharing. I'm sure your words will open the eyes of other women. [Wink]

Dear Mixed, One of my all time heroines is Toni Morrison and she writes;

Wanna fly, you got to give up the shit that weighs you down.

Then goes on to say;

Our old shit is so precious to us. We tenderly harbor our old resentments and periodically throw them pieces of fresh meat to keep them alive. We nurture our anger. We don't do anything to work it through or let it go, we just hang on and nurture it. And we wonder why we feel so stuck and held back in our lives.
When we hold onto old shit, it weighs us down. It is as if our feet are stuck in fresh tar.
There comes a time that we can see that it doesn't really matter what someone has done to us, our holding on to it is hurting us not them, and if we want to heal, we had best take our old shit and fertilize the flowers...
By Toni Morrison - Author

I feel the only way to grow is to let go and don't you dare count yourself out of the wonders of life.. You have alot to offer and there is another chance waiting for you out there Mixed. [Smile]

Mixedmetaphors, I do sincerely care and could read your pain between the lines. I hate the sound of despair in womens words. I truly hope and pray that your heart lightens and your spirit soars then and only then can you begin to truly heal. There is so much love in this group of women and right now it is aimed where needed most. I never knew I could have so many sisters. Please don't hesitate to share your feelings, we have all been there in one way or another. May God Bless You my sister....

Hello and Happy Holidays to everyone! It's been a while (puter issues = need a new one:(

Well, I guess I'm getting pretty good at this single stuff. I went to two X-mas gatherings and only felt lonely once during the gift showing off session. But then shortly afterward I was just happy that my young male cousin had been so loving and generous with his new bride. Looking at the glow on her face was certainly enough to verify that I should wait on my Godsend...the one I dreamt of in the poem.

Peace
