I'm writing a light hearted piece for a local magazine on the wacky/funny/crazy things people do to make sure that they get to keep the pets in a divorce or break up. If you've got a funny story you'd like to share, please email me at kelly@kellylstone.com

Thanks

I don't have one about people trying to keep the pets, but I do have one about a couple trying to stick each other with an incontinent cat.

The guy got the two sons and moved into a new place. The ex moved into a new place also. The guy wanted the dog, but the wife sent the cat home with the boys on their first visitation.

They both hated the cat because it wet on everything in sight. The ex-wife insisted the boys needed a pet and loved the cat. The guy said, "H---, the boys and me and everybody in the world hates that cat. The d---ed thing is incontinent. The boys want the dog." So he sent the cat back when the boys visited and told them to bring the dog home with them.

Well, it did him no good. Eventually he gave up on ever getting the dog, but he would send the cat to the ex-wife when the boys went for visitation and she would send it back. They both had new places with nice carpets and fought constantly about the incontinent cat. He would send the cat to hom when the boys visited and she would send it back.

They resorted to hauling the cat to each others house in the middle of the night. They would put the cat on the porch and ring the doorbell then drive off.

Every time I saw one of them, they were cussing the poor cat. No one wanted the incontinent cat.

Finally the guy gave up and gave the cat a home until it died of old age then he replaced the carpet.

[Big Grin] I have a funny story, but it has nothing to do with divorce.

My friend and I (both single at the time) were traveling to Las Vegas by car 2 days before Christmas. We pulled into the parking lot of a resturant took turns getting out to use the restroom,( because my truck bed was full of Christmas presents for Jhaynes grandchildren which included 2 ride on jeeps.)

I returned to the truck and Jhayne is laughing so hard she is crying. Between fits she tells me to look over at the stationwagon parked next to us--I do and spy a little (male) dog busy peeing all around a big box, which contained a---ride on jeep.
The owners were in the restaurant- the car had Nevada plates. We laughed and went on.

Then on our return trip-4 Days later- we pulled into a different restaurant parking lot--and there pulling in right beside us, was the peeing dog!

Small world.
