When I was a preteen this was the coolest thing around. Does Brian love me? Will I marry Terry? We believed our fortunes were being told as we sat with that stupid black ball in our hands like it was God. [Eek!]

Anyone else have one as a kid?

Hm, if I still had one, what would I ask it now?

Yes, we had one...now let's see...hmmm...what would I asked...

I would ask it "Ball...am I going to meet that terminally ill, blind, rich, with no children, man that is going to love me and leave me all of his money so I can quit this 8ish-5 job and have a cabin in the mountain/woods and just write all day?"

How's that for starters? Anybody else?

Yep. I had one too. Asked it all kinds of things. Wonder what ever happened to all of them. Seemed like everyone had one. Wonder where they all went. Trashed like mine I suppose.

Probably selling for a bazillion dollars on ebay now.

Oh well.

Loved that black ball. We all felt like a wonderful fortune teller, when it was in our hands!

I also remember singing in an a capella choir and the beautiful sounds that came from our voices when we sang in church. I particularly love the memory of the song, "The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord lift His countenance upon you...and give you peace....and be gracious unto you." That beautiful melody has been in mind the last couple of days and has been such a calming memory.

Just wanted to share with you.
