Back in the 1970s Betty Friedan was someone I considered a feminist. Somewhere along the way, certain people started attaching the feminist label to lesbian women and causes. I don't know why. Just because you stand up for womens rights doesn't mean YOU HATE MEN. It just means, in my opinion, you want EQUAL RIGHTS. Peace & Blessings, Beverly www.talk2bev.com author, WHATEVER! I, too, think that the word has become somewhat "loaded" with people believing that feminists are all lesbians, hate families and are pro-abortion. Some may be, but it isn't all of us who are feminists. I like to go a step further and promote a true partnership society where women's voices and "women's issues" (although I'm not sure why caring for the poor is a women's issue) receive equal attention to that of the masculine issues which seem to be business and power.
