This weekend is our town festival and the waeather is gorgeous. Our neighborhood is bustling. We walked up earlier. I always think of my boomer artisan friends while checking out the new goodies. I bought one t-shirt that says threads of peace. I'm going to get thier web address and share it with you because I believe in their mission. More later...

This week-end is the big and I mean BIG Cinco-Damio(excuse the butchered spelling???) celebrations all over. The air around Vegas is just full of the delicious aromas of all the food that is prepared at the park festivals, cook-outs and open gatherings. Most of the food is to die for and cooked the authentic old world way...yummy!!!

Do you indulge?

We went back to the festival today just long enough to get some greasey french fries and a pit beef sandwich. [Eek!] Dinner!

Last week I went to a craft fair called Spring Daze. It was fun. I love to see the craftsmanship of the things people make. Some of the stuff is so beautiful and its all local people. We have a bigger one in the summer called Lazy Daze. I can't wait for that one. We get crafters from all over the country at that one. And the food at these things is good too! I'm from the north so some of the foods served are new to me but its all delicious. I tried real kettle corn at this one and it was so good! It was fun to watch the man making it too!

Renee and I live in the same town so I know all about the Clearing House. Haven't been there in years, but loved to browse.

TVC, what foods do you miss from the north?

Most of the festivals I attended up north had lots of Italian favorites like Sausage and Pepper sandwiches and Zeppoli's.
Here in the south they have things like Fried snickers, kettle corn and roasted corn on the cob. I had the best strawberry shortcake at the festival last week.
I'm not complaining, its all good!
