I'm adding a Women's Artisans section to my links page. I think it would be fun to be able to click and shop from this site.

So far I have Meredith's jewelry, I'm checking to see if Thistle has anything to sell from her farm, a woman who paints artsy, crafty items, one who sells note cards and is introducing a line of household items, a gal who makes purses, and a woman who sells vases.

Can any of you recommend friend's sites?

Thank you!

Does this include people who have books to sell?

No, they are under women writers.

This section will be for arts and crafts. [Wink]

I don't have a site although I should because I have Antique costume jewelry for sale as well as really flashy hand made fishing lures that have been water tested. They go for $20.00 each and are guaranteed to catch fish. The jewelry varies in price and are haggling items. [Big Grin]

Hi,
Does anyone have any advice, information on how to set up a website for the technically challenged?
Any advice would be appreciated.
I am thinking about this and I am sure others out there are too.
Thanks,
Maggie

Maggie,
I used Network Solutions but it isn't easy to navigate or use unless you have some computer experience. Are you saying you are a novice? I'm asking because if so, then you might want to think about these FREE web site thingys out there, and a lot of people use them...I think Tripod is one...I'm sure the ladies here can jump in and tell of others.

Also, I don't know how easy or hard they are to use; however, it seems that the blog's might be the way to go if you are just wanting to "do a test drive?" Now if you are all the bells and whistles, then I would think about doing something besides a blog. Am I right about this girls? I'm not even sure about that! ha! I need to leave the advice to someone who knows, do I not?

Anybody here used the tripod or one of those other ones? Do they walk you thru it? Are they easy? hard?

JJ

I'm not much help in this area because I didn't do mine. BLogs are mainly for writing, aren't they? I think Maggie wants to sell her arts and crafts. Is that right Maggie?

We need to get Meredith and Vicki in here. They sell merchandise from their sites.

Yes, I am thinking about it. Have been asking around here too and am gathering interesting information locally.
Thanks,

Re websites: I sell at about a zillion craft fairs and know tons of women artisans, many of whom I'm sure have websites. How many do you want? Are we limiting this to boomer women artists?

Meredith, I'll review the sites and pick. I want a wide variety. I don't want several jewelers unless their styles are very different. Same with other categories of art. I'd like a little bit of everything. How's that?
