Every now and then I think about how fun it would be to be in the islands for Christmas day. This isn't the time in our lives to do soemthing like that, but one of these days!

For now we are home-bodies. We don't leave the house . I think it's one of the only days of the year that none of us get in a car and go somewhere. Isn't it hard to believe that we all never stay home all day except for Christmas?

Do you travel for the big day?

Now that neither my husband nor I have our parents we stay home on Christmas Day. My Mom used to have the entire family over for a "Christmas Brunch" and that was a nice tradition. I've grown to enjoy quiet Christmas days here at home though.

My hubby and I took a trip over Christmas to New York City many years ago - THAT was wonderful. Went up on the train, went to see the Rockettes, Rockefeller Plaza and the ice skaters, all the wonderful shops all decorated....it was really a GREAT trip.

Still - as they say - for me, there's no place like home for the holidays! [Big Grin]

We go from house to house now. Start out at my daughter's and have dinner there with her and her in-laws. Then we go to my husband's sister's house for a while and open presents with them. His kids come over and we spend time with them and do our gifts. Then we are exhausted and head home. It's all in the same town though. Christmas Eve we spend with my family at someone's home. Last year we had it, so we were home, but this year my brother is hosting it. He lives about 15 minutes away. I'd like to stay home and have everyone come to us, but it's getting too hard for that. [Eek!]
