After twenty three years of marriage and living with three teenagers in the house, I highly recommend getting away with your hubby alone. We just had a one night get-away(only 24 hours) and how great it was. Pop-Pop checked in to be with the kids while we checked out to be alone. This was a win-win situation for all involved!!! Go for it!

I agree!! We do this as well. I have been married for almost 22 years. One pointer for people is this. We live in Florida and the hotels are often high priced because of tourists. We do walk-in rates. Do not call ahead for reservations. It may be more expensive. Just "walk-in" and get a better price!

Count me in on this too. We still try to do weekend getaways, although we have more responsibilities now than we used to. When my husband and I were first married, (12 years ago) we used to do "theme weekends", where we would pick a theme country or city somewhere around the world, and have things with us on our local trip that depicted that place, i.e., a little flag, some food from that place, maybe a hat that they wear there, etc. It was very playful fun!! When we have more time to organize, I hope we can do it again!!
