At 4:30a yesterday morning I woke to words spinning around in my head and I had to get up and write it all down. Is this what being a grandma is going to be like? If so -- I'm hangin' on '-)

i'm going to have a grandbaby
words i didn't think i'd ever hear
daddy always said not me -- nope
i was beginning to give up hope

then mommy came along
and daddy changed his mind
and now i have a grandbaby coming
i'll "pretend" your mine all mine

things i want to do with you
places i want you to see
from taking you to mc donalds
to disney world with grandpa and me

i want to tell you stories
and brush your pretty hair
watch the bugs and butterflies
rock you gently in the family chair

i want to smile while daddy spoils you
and remember when he was three
watch grandpa's heart burst with love
have "for my special grandbaby" under the Christmas tree

i want to share you with your mommy
and try to give her good advice
to see you all together happy
will be worth any sacrifice

hurry now baby girl
so grandma wont be blue
i want to hold you in my arms and say
sweet myra belle horton
i love you

How beautiful! What a lucky baby girl, son and daughter-in-law! Keep writing in the middle of the night!

Your post makes my heart sing!!!!My parents were so head over heals in love with my son, their first grandchild. It was such a blessing to see that love fest! God Bless you Granny!

ahhhhhhh --- thanks ladies ;-) and mommy and daddy think they will be the only ones getting up in the middle of the night ;-)

one things for sure -- between both sets of grandparents and the rest of the family and friends -- this will be one spoiled baby ;-)
