car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit.

Somebody said if you're a "good" mother, your child will "turn out
good". . . somebody thinks a child comes with directions and a guarantee.

never came out the back door just in time to see her child hit a golf ball
through the neighbor's kitchen window.

Betty, welcome back sweetie, missed you. This is the cutest thing I've seen in ahile and is a happy writing and yet brought tears to my eyes. Maybe because all those things are gone forever and not enjoyed nor savored enough at the time. At least in my case. Oh, how I'd like one more day when my boys were babies together...
