Seems like yesterday that I didn't have a second to myself! Now that those babies are now teenagers I am looking for times to be alone with them. Funny how time changes things. Their friends, school, and activities keep them busy and they are becoming more independent with each passing day. This is a good thing! However, as they are maturing and needing me less, I have had to make certain that I have a life that is fulfilling so I don't interfere with theirs. Anyone else experiencing this?

I agree with you that it is a good thing that our children are maturing and becoming independent. It scares me that in four short years, both of my teenagers will be in college. Sometimes I am so busy with my work that I do not realize how they are growing up and away. It became very apparent to me when I saw my daughter (who is a freshman in high school)hop in the car with my son to go to school. It hurt my heart that morning. I feel like I am losing them. I don't feel a sudden urge to run out and find things to do with my time. I feel I will have plenty of time in just a few short years. Instead, I feel like I want to be around to spend whatever amount of time they want to spend with me. I don't want to miss anything that has to do with them. I feel like I am running out of time with them. It makes me sad! [Frown]
