Thanks for a special Holy Week poem, Jabber. I like to remember there is more to Easter than bunnies and ham, Easter bonnets and shiny patent leather shoes.

Had Chatty been feeling well she would've been writing poems, too, for she always had poems waiting in the wings. Though I asked Dotsie for permission to post the first poem, gims really got this section going by suggesting a game. My spirit feels empty right now and kind of numb. Instead of a blue Christmas, it's a blue Easter on earth, yet a rosy day in Heaven! Thank you Father God for sending Jesus! Jesus thank you for coming to earth, so we may have and enjoy life and live eternally.

A GOOD MOTHER'S LOVE

Is anything more precious,
than a good mother's love,
A caring angel, a nurturing angel,
Sent from Heaven above.
Like the snow-white dove, with motives so pure,
Toiling and sacrificing, hardships to endure.
They say show mom how much you care,
Buy something sweet, precious, or rare.
Is there anything measuring up to that task,
I think not, though a question I'll often ask.
Momma chose me as her child, long ago,
When I was too little to carry a hoe.
Now I can't hardly begin to express.
The love I feel for her, deep in my chest.

JULY 31st

Here we've arrived at the last day of July,
Soon we'll be wavin' month seven, bye, bye,
Personally, 'tis my best month of the year,
So now I'll explain why thoughts are revere.
'Twas thirty-one years ago, today,
God's grace gave wisdom, "I DO," to doth say.
How grateful I am for having the sense,
To marry a man, I know Heaven sent.
Marriage is a gamble, two lives are at stake,
One little slip, precious hearts 'll break.
But now waking up, this far down in time,
And being this happy, 'tis nearly blowing thy mind.
Blessed, blessed, Dear Lord up above,
Now I have four, manly spirits to love.
God the Father, God the Son, Holy Spirit
Three in One!

This poem has been running through my mind for a while, so it's being posted in hopes it'll deliver some smiles.

PROVISIONS

What do you see when looking at trees,
Wood for a fireplace or pretty colored leaves.
A home for songbirds, shade for the ground,
Bark for the woodpecker's tommy gun sound.

Will imagination take you climbing up high,
Hiding in solitude, nearly touching the sky.
Will you think of carbon dioxide, being removed from air,
Or the tons of oxygen, they're replacing everywhere.

Trees, like water, are bountifully supplied,
Elements only a Loving Creator has power to provide.

Thanks for sharing that with us, jabber! How nice! Trees are such a source of inspiration and comfort for me. When I was a kid, I would run underneath the trees in the fall and if a leaf fell on my face, I thought the tree was kissing me! And maybe it was!

GIVING THANKS

"What are you thankful for?" They always say,
And silently I'm asking, Well, do you have all day?

Am thankful for life, the greatest of gifts,
The hope that keeps it going, when we're needing a lift.

Am thankful for sinless Jesus, coming to earth,
Dying in our place and giving us worth.

Thankful for His Comforter, making things right,
When the days turn gloomy 'n dark as night.

Am thankful for the sun, the moon and the stars,
And for a sky full of planets from Venus to Mars.

Thankful for family, preacher, teacher 'n friend,
Forgiveness 'n mercy, and love without end.

Thankful for a stranger's smiling face,
Mentors 'n kindness, goodness and grace.

Thankful for the people with a mission in life,
To heal the brokenhearted and those bent with strife.

Thankful for warriors and the freedom they defend,
For fire-fighting volunteers 'n first responders they send.

Thankful for Eternal Life, God's Promise in faith believing,
The Word, 44 authors 'n 1600 years of inspiration receiving.
