I do so love when you put up one of your fantastic life photos. It stirs something inside me, I swear but my poem is pale in comparison to yours. This is such fun though!

Hey Alice. I enjoyed the 2nd poem over the 1st. I like happy stuff a little better than the deeper stuff. But both were good.
The kick to this thread is picking 4 words out of thin air and
then see what evolves. It's quit interesting to see what
develops within someone's brain. And Ed3's pictures develop
some cool and varying poems. Sometimes I've chosen words that
seem hard and wrote rhymes myself to see if it could be done.
Gims suggested this game. And I've had a ball with it. Some of
my buddies have too! Glad you joined the rhyme on a dime club.

I changed my mind about this post! Just consider it done by a
foolish acting ghost!

I'm short on time but have this burning desire to write an ode
to my lifelong friend. She's in the nursing home and will be 90 years old soon. And I love her so.

Blessed Friend

I have this friend,
God gave to me,
The most wonderful friend,
Anyone could be.

She's warm and wise,
Sweet to everyone,
To her, God and life,
Are second to none.

I've seen her reconcile,
the weak 'n sin ridden,
To The Lord up above,
With these words,
"All is forgiven."

With a love so vast and oh so huge,
Her love lifted me, I know its true.
And I know if she knew, you were in need,
She'd walk a mile, to do a good deed.

I've seen her lend, a soft, helping hand,
To the hurting 'n the infirmed,
Throughout the land,
I've seen the lady's love,
reverse lifestyles,
I've seen her turn frowns,
Into great big smiles.

Why bad things happen,
To the best 'n the good,
I really haven't a clue,
Though, perhaps I should.
I've asked that question, before when blue,
But it seems the answer, nobody knew.
Then the Word of God,
Doth come to mind,
And the answer there, I'll surely find.

The Bible says, that ole devil out there,
Roams around and devours more than his share,
He destroys the weak, the aged, the frail,
He steals faith and discredits good will.

But focus on this and be of good cheer,
Psalm 25, verse 3 says right here,
"All who harm the innocent shall be defeated!"
And those words are worthy of being repeated.

New words:
Laughing, loving, reacting, enjoying

Jabber, that was a beutiful ode to a very dear friend. Hopefully she will hear it from you.

Your words: Laughing, loving, reacting, enjoying

Don’t you just love to hear a contagious laugh,
It will tickle your tickle bone, and you don’t know why.
It’s so much nicer to giggle, than be tough,
It’s so much better to smile, than to sigh.

Just the other day while sitting in a street café,
Enjoying my Latta Machiato.
Empty thoughts, at an empty bay
Listening to the song; “Macho-Macho.”

When from a table I heard a child laughing.
Bubbling over like a fountain of mirth.
And the best thing was, everyone started reacting,
Stifling their chuckles; embarrassed at first.

The loving mother held a clown hand puppet,
And played peek-a-boo from behind a large napkin.
Squealing with delight, the child showed how she loved it.
While the guests joined her in laughter; what a joyous din!

New Words:

Those words were fun, Jabber
Anyone else game?
If not, here are my words.
Mosquitoes, lanterns, garlic, steaks

Ed3, those words remind me of a cookout...

The grill is stoked,
Coals are hot,
Lanterns are lit,
Swarms of mosquitoes, really rot.

Steaks are grilling,
Ears of corn grilling, too,
WE have garlic salted, potato wedges,
And plenty of drinks for the crew.

New words,
airboat, gondola, humor, galoot

If no one can do the gondola and its sidekicks, I'll try 'em
when I have more time. My imagination is sailing down a Venice
side stream on a warm, spring afternoon. What do you see?
