Jabber, I saw the rescued dog on the roof. Am I correct the roof was an island of floating debris? The pup looked pretty good for being lost for a week!

Don't know, Anne. I thought it was the roof of a house? But I could be wrong.

Jabber, I just went and Googled it to be sure... The dog was on a roof alright, but the roof was on a house that was floating out in the ocean. Apparently the dog was wearing a collar, but that is little help at the moment. Here's the link: Dog found on roof three weeks after tsunami

Anne,
I loved that story. I knew he was out to sea for several, long days.

I want to thank everyone for your encouragement. Pootie is pushing ten years old is doing wonderful! I have plans to get a miniature schnauzer when she goes. They don't shed and that is a biggie with my husband. Anybody out there who owns a schnauzer? Are they good indoor pets?

I don't have any experience with Schnauzers, Rose. We have had several at the Humane Society here over the last few months. They seem to be sweet dogs from what I've seen. You can find a lot of information about the breed online. If you are going to buy a puppy, please make sure it's from a reputable breeder and not a puppy mill situation at a pet store. You can also check your local animal shelter or a schnauzer rescue if you want to adopt.

My neighbor has a Schnauzer and absolutely loves it. Our family
doctor owned 1, 2. Love it. They look like little people. Cute.
Smart. Great pets, they say.

My dogs are like human siblings, they want to eat out of each other's food dish and play with the other's toys. Whatever I give one, the other wants it. Cute!
