Well our Scottish lass has released her album..
and the content is worth waiting for...

Susan cared for her Mother who died aged 91..used her savings to make a demo tape..got herself noticed..brought out the best and worst in people..

she did Parish visits..sung at Knock pilgrimages as well as her church.shw was loved by many.

Susan gives me spiritual inspiration...listen to some of her songs and be moved...I cannot choose my favourite... all are good.

may she have a save passage in the world of show biz..and have support..she deserves the best.

It was reported that the pre-orders for her first album has broken the record at Amazon. I am so pleased for her. I find her rendition of "How Great Thou Art" very prayerful.

I must hear, How Great Thou Art. Not only is it one of my all time favorite hymns, but it has been sung at every funeral in my family. And yes, we will be singing it again this Friday. Perhaps I should just play Boyle's version.....

I am off to listen.

As I am typing, I am listening to "How Great Thou Art". How does a person live, with such inner beauty, and such talent, without recognition for so long?

So much has been said about this lady..
she did not come from poverty.she maybe was lonely without her role as carer.yet she knew she had her dream.
she is the last child in a large family with older parents..her schooling was before Warnock act in UK where more assistance was given to teachers of pupils who had additional needs.had she been born later her education would have been "kinder" by that I mean those who were unkind would have been educated better..The name calling would have been stopped and those people taken to one side. That pattern existd all too often.

Those who depleted her confidence in the schoolyard will be aware how cruel they were.she lives in a small community.
her legacy to others is multiple...not just music.
from what I hear...she has tried to break in to acting/drama but at college did not have the emotional stamina to cope.Hence the need for help in her early education.Money may now buy expertise and fill her additional needs.I believe this to be possiblr.

Everyone wants a part of her...the feminist movement..the media..but if she gathers a good team and her brothers protect her from sharks..then long may she flourish...the cd is well produced and this may be her forte..where the pace can be monitored.the chat show people who ask about her cat...ask for a twirl should be told off...listening to how other express their opinions about Susan has taught me so much.About societies perception on diversity.
my opinion is that we judge her voice...and learn to put other misconceptions to one side.
I enjoyed buying her cd...and enjoyed listening..
Eagle...you have a treat in store.

Anno, I've asked myself the same question. I enjoyed MA's thoughts.

I believe that old saying; Looks are deceiving, is echoed everytime this wonderful, talented lady opens her mouth and that angelic voice emerges. Bless her heart.

I'm so glad she finally got her chance! -- and at a not-young age, which tells us to never give up on our dreams.

In our local paper in the entertainment section they stated that Susan Boyles album has passed four million in sales, and has broken all records in Europe including the standing record the Beatles have held all these many years. They also stated this does not take into account the albums sold in America already and noted on Amazon. Good for you Susan Boyle give 'em hell!!!

I absolutely adore this woman...no one is more deserving of this success than she. God bless her, may her career only get better and better and I hope her team of managers protect her from those who would take advantage if they could. We are so blessed to have this voice of an angel amongst us. My favorite, thus far, is Wild Horses.

Do you remember Cherie Blair the UK Prime Ministers wife being photographed in her nightdress shortly after the election.Well Susan was caught at her door also in night attire.Tabloids used it of course.
This sort of thing is what she is putting up with.Seems her manager has a security firm at the gate now..she will need support for all this pressure..

The music Dee is wonderful..looking forward to her next album already..

Her story is the perfect midlife woman's story. How marvelous that she had the guts to go out for the show. She deserves everything that's come her way since.

In no way to detract from Susan who deserves all her popularity..There is another young singer whose voice is inspirational.I copied something about her..maybe you can hear something on Youtube..you will enjoy.

Faryl Smith (born 23 July 1995 in Kettering, Northamptonshire, England) is an English teen mezzo-soprano who rose to fame after auditioning for the second series of the ITV television talent show Britain's Got Talent in 2008, performing as a mezzo-soprano. She received praise throughout the competition, and although she was the favourite to win after the second round, she finished outside the top three in the live final on the 31 May. During the competition, she received singing lessons from Yvie Burnett and received offers from various record labels. After the show, she rejected offers of contracts from Sony BMG, although she did appear on fellow finalist Andrew Johnston's debut album One Voice.

Smith signed a contract with Universal Classics and Jazz for a £2.3 million advance in December 2008, the largest ever granted to a schoolgirl. Her debut album, Faryl, was recorded in December 2008 and January 2009, and was released in March 2009. Faryl became the fastest selling solo classical album in British chart history, selling 29,200 copies in the first week. It debuted at number 6, but rose to number 4 in the following week, making Smith the third Britain's Got Talent contestant to have a top ten album. Her second album, Wonderland, is due for release in November 2009. Smith lives with her parents in Kettering, where she attends Southfield School for Girls.
