Eileen is the founder of lunarradiance.com and a regular advertiser at BWS. Just wanted to share her discount with everyone for World Menopause Day.

World Menopause Day is not a new event. It was started way back in 1984, though it is still relatively unheard of. Started by the International Menopause Society and the World Health Organization, World Menopause Day's original purpose was to bring increased awareness to menopause.

Menopause changes a woman's quality of life and more importantly puts her at increased risk for osteoporosis, breast cancer, heart disease, and stroke. Let's not forget hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain, depression, sleep problems, itchiness and a host of other symptoms that were once thought to be only "in the head" of the transitional woman. It is important to understand the risk factors associated with these conditions and how these conditions can be treated.
This once undiscussed topic has now come into focus and is open for discussion for more and more women with each other, and their physicians as well. Just Google "menopause" and you will find an abundance of websites and information.
In honor of World Menopause Day, Lunar Radiance is offering $5.00 off all wicking sleepwear purchases of $20.00 or more. NO PROMO CODE NEEDED!! We are doing our part to help you say "Nightie, night" to night sweats!!

We have a holiday exclusively for us? Weeeeeeeell...YEHEY!!! When is this? Do we have a pin to wear? I must, must find a pin to wear and celebrate it happily. Afterall, I have a holiday celebrating a stage in my life. Raising a cup of coffee along with Anne and singing "Take my Sweat Awaaay" (to the tune of Take My Breath Away).

JJ, I truly believe you could find humor in just about anything. Not everything because you have good sense and class but in most things, you are a real nut!!!

Chatty shouts, "back you ravenous squirrels, get back...!!!!!

I surely did, JJ! I've just declared by own holiday...for the sleep deprived. I'm skiving work today. Insomnia ceases to be funny when one seeks sleep and cannot.

Oh you poor kid. I'm so sorry. I've never had that problem except when one of my kids were ill. I believe I could go to sleep standing up. I wish for you delicious slumber and wonderful dreams!

Lola, what's keeping you up at night? Anything in particular? How about a nice hot bath before bedtime? Might relax you and help you sleep better.

Thanks, JJ and Dotsie. I slept for over an hour this morning and managed a long siesta in the afternoon. I've caught up with much needed sleep.

Plain menopause, Dotsie. I've done everything in the manual which helps but...occasionally, it does'nt. And, when it does not, I simply take a day off from work so I can catch up on sleep.

Love your poem, Anne.

The funny thing is, my sisters who live in NYC and the South Pacific think I have a normal pattern of sleep...by their respective time zones. LOL!

I'm just glad I do not work with heavy machinery...or even fly a plane or any of that sort. Can you just imagine the threat I'd pose to the public? I'd be a fine babysitter though. I'd sleep when the child does. And...he better nap!

With as bad a case of sleep apnea as I have and thinking i slept soundly, I would actually fall asleep standing at the sink doing dishes. It was terrible. Once I took the sleep study test and found out the problem, I got a CPAP machine and was able to actually sleep spoundly and never fell asleep agsin standing up, geesh!

Sometimes I do have insomnia, I think we all might from time to time, and everything I've read says: If you don't fall asleep in the first half hour, get up, walk around, have some warm liquid (not caffeine) read awhile and then try again.
