what a horrible story! and confusing. from the NYTIMES:
maybe the autopsy was wrong? How could everyone be so far off from what appears to be reality?

"Daniel Schuler, the husband of the drunken driver who killed herself and seven others on the Taconic State Parkway on July 26, spoke for the first time since the crash, insisting that his wife, Diane, did not have a drinking problem and affirming the health of their marriage.

With his lawyer and relatives at his side, Mr. Schuler, a public safety officer for the Nassau County police, said in a news conference on Long Island that his wife had some medical conditions that might have led her to become disoriented and caused her to drink to such excess. "
