LOL!!! I can crossover from one genre of music to another, let alone decades. I'm listening to Vicente Amigo right now. I've YouTubed him for you.

Then there's Steve Balsamo (quite appropriate for the season. My Mom would be aghast!)

And then I spent summer of '69 in California. WOODSTOCK!!! OMG!!! WOOOOOOODSTOCK!!! I have never been the same again. cool

What amazes me is how many songs' lyrics I recall! I mean I amaze myself!! We listen to either ITunes or XM Radio and I remember EVERY word on literally thousands of songs!! 50's, 60's, 70's. And that's a HECK Of a lot of songs!!!

But why can I not remember what I ate yesterday???

Gosh Lola, just got to listen to your youtube links.

So you were the wild lady dancing at Woodstock?
I have to admit this...I never liked electronic music,...not even as a young 'flower child'. Joan Baez and most of the songs Meredith listed were more my line...so that's why I never went to Woodstock when it took place on the East Coast. Geez, I was even conservative then. Oh yawn.

Gosh, I wish! I was only 13 and Mom won't let me. Though I got to visit Woodstock a few times from when I was 17 to pay homage. LOL! But, they've all packed up and left the field.

I'd have to agree with Merdith. It was the last time new cord combinations were created, and before sampling started of the very good songs that were created in the late 60's and early 70's. The last of the good lyrics and new music. I didn't like it all by any means but it has to stand out as the place it began.

Course, I like Duke Ellington, T Bone Burnett and some other classics of that genre. That was new music too!

One nod to my friend Bo Diddley too. Bo Diddley was a gun slinger and he is a very nice man. I've not talked to him in some time but he was a very good man when I was working with him.

Motown has it's own place in history too.

I should say that as a musician, I think some music today is new but not alot. There are a LOT of covers of very good songs out now. It goes to show where the good music was!

Last night on the PBS channel I watched for the third time in as many years CELTIC WOMEN. If there are angels among us these women are them. Their voices are not to be believed, you have to hear them, They are ALL Irish and the music they sing to is old tradition with modern additions, and just amazing. If you can ever find their music give it a listen. The goosebunps they cause last for hours. They are all very attractive women as well.
